You might know Bruce Lee from the movies like “Enter the Dragon” or “Fist of Fury”, which show how great martial artist he was. However, did you now that Bruce Lee was as well a very talented dancer?

Yes, it is true, in 1958 he become the Hong Kong Cha Cha Cha Champion! He started to learn dance shortly after he started his kung-fu lessons. He had a serious reason for that. Can you guess why he started to take dance lessons? Of course – he wanted to impress a girl ;)!

As he found out that dance improves his footwork and balance, he invested his time and total focus to take lessons in both, dance and kung-fu. There is an anecdote, that wherever he went, he always carried the 100 individual dance steps syllabus, to be able to flip through. At the age of 18 years, he became so good in dance, that he won the competition making him the champion of Hong Kong in Cha Cha Cha.

The time he spent to learn dance and become self-confidant in it, helped him a lot while he was travelling to America. He had only a few $ in his pocket, but he managed to make extra money by teaching dance to the wealthy American passengers.
